The Gardening Club's monthly meetings take place on the second Tuesday from May to October, with an additional meeting in January,  in the village hall or at fellow members' gardens. The cost is £2 (usually including tea and cake!). Entry is open to all.

Items the club aims to cover include

​

• Sharing which jobs need to be done each month.

• What grows well in Winsford and what doesn’t.

• Inviting expert gardening speakers to our meetings.

• Visits to each other’s gardens.

• Sharing seeds, cuttings and plants.

• What to grow without a greenhouse.

• Organising visits to gardens of interest and other places.

• How to grow fruit and veg

Jobs this month (October)

​​​

• Plant spring bulbs (info given last month).

• Lift and divide any overcrowded herbaceous perennials whilst the soil is still warm.

• Tidy borders then mulch to insulate plant roots for the winter and suppress weed growth.

• Cut back tall shrubs like Buddleia and roses by about a third to prevent wind rocking.​
